Application to the Summer Institute is competitive—each year we receive more applicants than we are able to accept. In this year’s application, we ask about the courses you teach and your use of Blackboard. Your responses to those questions help us in selecting a cohort of reflective instructors for an intensive workshop.
Who Should Attend
SITETL 2024 will be a special version focused on helping faculty transition their courses to the ultra course view as we prepare for the Fall 2024 semester when all of the term’s courses will be created in the new format. The ideal candidate will plan to adapt multiple courses during the three-day event with classes that greatly affect their students, department, or programs.

Accepted participants will receive the following benefits:
- Access to teaching and technology support staff during the Summer Institute and following the institute.
- Participation in a cohort of peers during and after the Summer Institute.
- Access to a Blackboard organization made up of an ongoing list of articles, resources, and discussions among colleagues/participants.
Requirements
Accepted participants are expected to:
- Attend and participate actively in all of the workshop sessions.
- Actively develop materials for their course or courses to be shared with their colleagues at the end of the workshop.
- Share your experiences during the Summer Institute with departmental colleagues or other faculty members.
Evaluation Process
Applications will be evaluated through a competitive committee review process.
Applicants will be evaluated on:
- The materials submitted via the SITETL application form
- Technology background
- Potential impact on students and department colleagues
Due Date
Applications are due by the end of the day on Friday, April 12th, 2024 with selections announced in early May.
